Sandra Cisneros
Sandra Cisneros is a poet, novelist, writer of short stories, and essayist. Born in Chicago in 1954 as the third child, and only daughter, of seven children. She has worked as a teacher and has taught creative writing to many grade levels. Her books include: The House on Mango Street (1991), Woman Hollering Creek and Other Stories (1991), A House of My Own: Stories from My Life (2015), and many more. The House on Mango Street has sold over six million copies, is required reading in schools across the nation, and has been translated into over twenty languages.

R.O Kwon
R.O Kwon was born in Seoul. She was raised in a Christiana household, but experienced a crisis of faith and consequently stopped believing in God. This inspired her novel, The Incendiariesv (2018). This novel took her ten years to finish and it is now critically acclaimed. She has appeared in many publications including, The New York Times, The Guardian, and Buzzfeed.

Terese Marie Mailhot
Terese Marie Mailhot is a First Nation Canadian writer, memoirist, journalist, and teacher from Seabird Island Band. She was born on June 14, 1983 in Seabird Island First Nation reservation. Her mother (Wahzinak) was a social worker, and radical activist. Her father (Ken) was an artist. Her debut book, Heartberries: A Memoir (2018) was published with deal with trauma, sexual abuse, poverty and much more. 
 
Helen Oyeyemi
Helen Oyeyemi is a British novelist, and a writer of short stories. Oyeyemi was born in 1981. Her novels include, Icarus Girl, The Opposite House (2007), White is for Witching (2009), and Mr. Fox (2011). Her most recent novel, Boy, Snow, Bird was published in 2014. She wrote her first novel while studying for her A levels.

Kamila Shamsie
Kamila Shamsie is a Pakistani-British novelist, and writer. She was born on August 13th, 1973. She comes from a family of writers: her mother (Muneeza Shamsie) is a journalist, her great-aunt (Attia Hosain) was a writer, and Jahanara Habibulla is her grandmother. Shamsie has written many novels including, In The City by the Sea (1998), Salt and Saffron (2000), Kartography (2002), Broken Verses (2005), Home Fire (2017), and many others. 


Kate Walbert
Kate Walbert is a novelist. Among the books she has published is The Sunken Cathedral (2015), A Short History of Women (2009), and His Favorites (2018). She was born in New York, had lived in Georgia, Texas, Japan, and Pennsylvania and many other places, and has won: National Endowment for the Art fiction fellowship, and a Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Fellowship. 

Jacqueline Woodson
Jacqueline Woodson is an American writer born in February 12, 1963. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in South Carolina, and Brooklyn, New York. Jacqueline primarily writers’ books for children, and has written many novels including: Another Brooklyn (2016), and Brown Girl Dreaming (2014).

Leni Zumas
Leni Zumas is an American novelist who grew up in Washington D.C. Some of the many books she has published is: Farewell Navigator: Stories (2008), and Red Clocks (2018). She has been published in Poets & Writers, Tin House, and multiple others.
